Twitter partnership: 100% of tweets to be searchable on Scoopler

Time to get 100% of the scoop!

Scoopler is proud to announce that it has struck a partnership with Twitter to make 100% of tweets (aka the "Full Firehose") searchable in realtime through Scoopler.com.  Now when you want to get the scoop on the latest information, you can be certain that you are seeing everything that is shared through Twitter along with our other sources.  As always, Scoopler will provide the most relevant and up-to-date results available on the web and it will only get better with even more information for you to search on.

We've been working closely with Twitter for the past two years and appreciate their on-going efforts to cultivate the relationship and support us as we grow.  This partnership highlights those efforts with us as well as with the Twitter community at large.  You can check out twitter's blog on this.

All links, videos and images share through Twitter already available on scoopler.com along with a majority of tweets.  The remainder will be available as soon as infrastructure upgrades are complete.  We will announce the completion of this upgrade in the near future

Thanks for getting the scoop on Scoopler.

New: Scoopler beta v2 -- Get the scoop

Hi,

Scoopler has just cranked out a whole new site.  Users have spoken about how we can make it easier for them to get the latest info and stay up-to-date moment by moment.  Today we're announcing the Scoopler beta v2.  We've brought the Top Scoops and videos to the home page, accelerated search to milliseconds, and made it easier than ever to share what you care about with one-click sharing to your favorite networks.

Scoopler puts a premium on the timeliness of content.  We believe that for you to stay current with the world, your friends, or your business you need to always have the latest information at your fingertips.  Scoopler search results, as always, are updated moment-by-moment by pulling the most relevant information, links, videos and images from thousands of conversations happening right now across the world.

Here are some of the great moments to use scoopler:

  1. "Something big" just happened
  2. You want to follow the latest developments as they happen
  3. You want to know what people are saying right now
  4. Other *ahem* outdated search engines are still sending you to yesterday's links

In other news, we've also rolled out a new feedback widget.  Look for the feedback link at the bottom, or the handy tab we've added to the search results page.  It only takes seconds to let us know what's on your mind and we'd love to build it for you.

Thanks,

The Scoopler Team

Scoopler is blisteringly fast, thanks for noticing.

Just wanted to drop a note to those who asked.  Search is ridiculously, faster.  AJ quietly pushed some awesome improvements yesterday evening and now most results are essentially instant.

Happy scooping,

Ben.

It's a little noisy here

I am stoked to have joined Scoopler, so after months of staring at realtime results, I'm proud to blog my first thoughts on the world of realtime search...

Recent positive feedback and honest smackdown of a large, multi-colored competitor has spurred me to comment on the state of realtime search and reaffirm the visionary position of Scoopler.

Let's be blunt, most of the live information being posted through twitter, digg, justin.tv or elsewhere isn't relevant to you. If you were to stand in front of the jet-engine equivalent of the real-time web, not only would the noise be deafening, you couldn't hear anyone telling you good information like "it's probably not safe to stand in front a jet engine." What's beautiful about the breeze though (to force the analogy) is that there really are people speaking those good tidbits of information amongst all the noise; signals that we can hear if filtered smartly. And that's the lofty goal of real-time search engines: be the noise-cancelling headsets of the real-time web.

noisy

So what does it take? A lot of attempts seem to take an algorithm based on tweet count and then display the results like a standard search engine. That's great, but real-time search isn't used the same way as static search. Realtime information is constantly shifting to the next important development. Think Tiger Woods accident, to attack, to scandal. How fast did that happen again? I still have whiplash from the car crash. Real-time search isn't just about the algorithm, it's also about the delivery. It's the difference between the cheapo earphones and the best noise isolating headphones (yeah, they're better than bose).

For any developing search topic, Scoopler delivers the complete picture based on our three principals: filter, live-update, and live-feed.  Scoopler Popular shares has the filtered, noise-cancelled goodness you'd expect.  Popular shares also updates live right when something changes (something we're working on making more obvious). Finally, the Live Posts column allows you to see the next bit of info right when it's first share.  Take all three together and you get the full picture.

So open Scoopler, search for your flavor of the moment and tune in with high-fidelity to the real-time web.

-- Ben

P.S. We'd like to tune into you. Share your thoughts to feedback[at]scoopler[dot]com or send them direct to me ben[at]scoopler[dot]com.  Alternatively, leave us your comments below!

New: Easy RSS feeds and quick peeking

What's New

  2. Peek is the now default for links, images and videos

Easy RSS feeds

Another handy way to keep up to date with the latest content you care about, Scoopler’s easy RSS feeds make, well, easy. Available for custom searches and categories, the feed will push what’s popular right to your reader.

The two-step how to:

  1. Search for your or click a category
  2. Click the RSS button and copy the URL into your favorite RSS reader

Elvis Presley - Scoopler Search

Customize the content type

Only want to see video, images or links in your RSS feed? Scoopler does that too. Choose the content type you want to view first in the popular column, then click the RSS button and you’re set.

Quick Peek

With Quick Peek you can rapidly view lots of content without browsing away from Scoopler. Click any link and a preview of the page loads directly in Scoopler while keeping your search results fresh in the background. Peek a link, check it out, then move on. This was already the default option for video and images, by popular demand it’s now default for links as well.

To view the link in a separate browser, click the new window button to the right of the link, though we think this is so handy you won’t need to.

* Why does peek sometimes send me directly to the page? Because some providers, such as hulu.com, force their content to only load in a separate page as is their prerogative.

Enjoy!
