What is Scoopler?

Scoopler helps you search and discover what people are talking about on the internet right now. There is lots of valuable content being shared on the internet, in real-time, like eye-witness reports of breaking news, photos and videos from events happening around the world, and links to hottest memes of the day. Scoopler makes it really easy to keep track of all this "live" content by aggregating and organizing it for you. Whether you want to get the latest news on your favorite celebrity, find out the score from tonight's big game or keep up with current affairs, Scoopler will give you the most relevant updates, links, videos, and images, within seconds of the story unfolding.

So what have we been beavering away at for the last 3 months?  Here's a list of the awesome features in this release:

• Hot topics: Instead of just showing you the top trending words on scoopler, we actually show you the headline / story behind that trend.  We're all about making it easier for you to identify what people are talking about right now, and this was one of the most requested features when we did alpha testing so we spent some time creating a system that would generate the headlines for you. 
• Live updated results: As we're dealing with live content, we figured it would make sense if we updated search results in real-time so you don't have to keep hitting refresh.  This means you can keep Scoopler open all day long and it will always show you the most recent and relevant results seconds after they appear on the internet.
• Popular Content: We extract links, videos and images from all of the live feed we aggregate from and rank them based on how popular they are - i.e. how much they have been shared.  The popular column shows you the most highest ranked content for the your search query.  Think of this as the crème de la crème of content which is immediately relevant to your query.
• Peek: It's now really easy to quickly checkout a video, link or image by pressing the "peek" button which appears next to content when you hover over it.  Peek opens the content in a preview window in Scoopler, saving you from opening a new tab or window.  We hope this will save you a few clicks a day!
• Share: See something you like?  You can share it on Twitter, Facebook, Digg, and many other services using the "share" button, which appears when you hover over content and in the preview windows when you use peek.  We use Addtoany's API for this.

We're already working hard on the next release.  We have lots of features in the pipeline including scplr.com short urls, custom / branded search pages, and the ability to easily share actual searches.
